Version 2.0 - Almost There!
Hello Adventurers,
Great news - Pixel Odyssey 2.0 is almost finished! The majority of features are now working, and what's left is primarily polishing and completing a few remaining systems like the market and leaderboards.
I mentioned in my last update that I'd be busy with school, and that certainly proved true. The last few weeks were largely spent preparing for the end of semester, which meant development time was limited. But now that exams are behind me, I can focus on getting Version 2.0 across the finish line.

What's New Since March
Town Screen Transformation
The town is no longer just a collection of buttons! I've created a full graphic environment where all locations are visible, complete with background animations that bring the world to life. This visual overhaul makes navigating between areas much more immersive and engaging.
Expanded Content
- •More items than initially planned - especially for the new ores and upcoming features
- •New talents - new talents and increased max levels, even for monster hunting
- •Obol feature twist - a new mechanic that allows you to squeeze more out of your obols
- •New skill tiers - expanding progression possibilities
Quality and Inspiration
I've been taking extra time to ensure all features work properly and feel polished. Recent inspiration from playing mobile games myself and diving into game design literature has led to many improvements and tweaks throughout the system. This additional research time has been invaluable for making Version 2.0 the best it can be.
Technical Improvements
Behind the scenes, I've implemented much stricter rules and typing than before. This should significantly reduce bugs and create a more stable foundation for future development. The codebase is now more robust and maintainable.
Release Timeline
I'm expecting to finish and release Version 2.0 in mid-August. While I'll be unavailable for the next few weeks due to other commitments, the remaining work is well-defined and manageable.
Post-2.0 Commitment
Once Version 2.0 is live, I'm making a pledge: monthly updates. My goal is to deliver meaningful content additions at least once per month, with only rare exceptions. This consistent update schedule will keep the game fresh and continuously evolving.
These updates will be heavily driven by your feedback and suggestions. The community has already provided invaluable insights that have shaped Version 2.0, and I want to continue that collaborative approach. Whether it's new features, balance adjustments, or quality-of-life improvements, your input will directly influence the development roadmap.
I have many features planned that didn't make it into Version 2.0, so there's plenty of exciting content in the pipeline for future updates.
